I applaud all those writers who spend so much time and committment to placing their thoughts on these pages.
I joined you relunctantly and placed two accounts of my early life and the response was reasonable at first - "The Beginning of Collie". Then I began what i thought was going to be a much more interesting tale (and it is a true tale) of the time I met five guys and four dogs in Texas "Collie Goes to Texas" Reasonable response… but the last two episodes (and I thought Part 6 was very hot) two responses in 48 hours - part 7 no response. NIL. Not one other occurence in my life bettered this experience so there really is no point in contunuing. So I am leaving it there..
PLEASE respond to all the other writers because I am sure a lot feel the sane as I do and this secion will be blank unless you want to fill it with fiction from the web
Thankyou for reading and there is no need to respond to this.

Aw shucks … let me add my plea Collie! I'm newly arrived here but enjoy every part of your stories. Not merely because you craft them so well, but because they are so real! Your gift is to be able to make your experiences stand out - to describe them so vividly as to allow your reader to BE there with you!
Being new, I don't know if this suggestion is appropriate, but it might be better to post each new chapter as a new thread. Often, when you add the next chapter to your existing story line, the reader could miss the new installment. This could account for the appearance of declining readership when newcomers (like me) don't notice that their favourtie (hmmm might that be a freudian typo? lol) *favourite* author (and you are definitely one of mine Collie) has added to the story.
Should your decision be final Collie - be assured that your work has been VERY well appreciated But if you relent and continue to write, you know that there will be one very appreciative Canadian neighbour!
I have not had a chance to read any of your stories yet, however I am just beginning to get into this exciting section of the forum. I always leave a comment for the writer of the story if I have read it. I can understand your dismay, and the reason for it, however I would urge you to reconsider and continue writing if it is what you enjoy. If others read your story and do not bother to take the time to comment, its shame on them and has no bearing on the fact that you have been generous enough to take the time to write, post and share your work. From some of the comments above I think there will be many members that will truly miss your great writing skills. I guess the decesion in the end will be yours to make and you just need to follow your heart on this one. Now I am off to check out the stories you have written, because it seems others like them alot and they sound like a good read. Good Luck in whatever you decide.
Collie:
I am very appreciative of all of your stories that I have read, and I think that I have read the most of them. I do not wish that you should leave and not finish your life's story like you seemed to start telling.
However, it is like a person going into a library or book store. He/she kinda knows what kind of material that he/she likes and will go to that section. He/she may pull some of the books out and start to read, upon which they may put that book back and grab another, possibly repeating this for several times until they find one that is a fit to them the way that they like. When this is so, they do not bother to write the author, upon which the author does not say that he/she is going to quit writing because he/she has not gotten a compliment from all who have picked up their books in the library or book store. The author is fueled by the number of people who buys their book, but that is not the case here where the stories are free.
What I am trying to say is that you should not be too critical on all of us who have picked up your "book" from this "shelf" and not bothered to let you know that we picked it up, and looked into it, reading a bit, or all of it.
I cannot expect everyone who looks into my stories to send me a compliment, but I am very pleased that the number of people who open it is going up every day whether the comment rate is on the rise or not.
Well, I will get out of here and stop with my soap-boxing. Have a good day and I hope that you reconsider shutting us off from your wonderful stories. Thank you for writing them.
Dear All
I have not left and I am still writing. I wrote that in a fit of depression. I agree with all your comments. I have just got back from Costa Rica and enjoyed many unique experinces including belly riding…… and my first with two Danes. Wow they are huge!!!! Now they will make good stories…
Even a proposal of marriage from a young man almost twenty years my junior!!!! But then he had second thoughts and withdrew the offer. Damn!!! And he owned the Danes!!! Now that would have been a wonderful wedding present!!!
Happy Christmas everyone. Getting my things together after the trashing of my house… Now if those Danes had been here…..
